Adaptable and Safe Baby Furniture Prototypes
Could your changing table and high chairs be safer? French designers Frank & Stanimira Rafaschieri think so. They've created two children's furniture prototypes that address the inherent safety issues of two daily tasks of parenting - feeding and changing diapers. These prototypes show designs that are thoughtful of the developmental stages of a child's growth and abilities, which may sensibly result in less accidents when placing children at unsafe heights.
Since both feeding and diaper changing take place at heights comfortable for adults but unsafe for the child - the Rafachieri's tackled the issue of necessary safety "accessories" and heightened parent awareness when using either a changing table or high chair.
Domestic accidents with children related to the use of furniture or a childcare article have raised the question of improper use of children’s accessories and furniture with unadaptable (dangerous for children) height as the main cause for unintentional fall from big height. According to statistical data falling from a children’s highchair is the most common cause for cranial traumatism among small children (bearing the risk of irreversible implications).
Their changing table prototype is actually a bench so that a walking child may climb up to get changed, which also lowers the height of an accidental fall. The changing part of the "table" can be reversed to convert into a bench after the child has grown past their diaper years.
Their highchair design, named the "Evolutionary Chair", is a stacking set of seats and tables that grow with the child. At it's lowest levels, a small child can be seated on the floor at a small table to feed or play games while the pieces can be 'stacked' to adapt to the growing child.

The Design this design Children’s furniture “Evolutionary Chair and Low Hygiene Table” is super brilliant. Furniture growing with child concept is sweet :p I looked at the work of the Designers Frank and Stanimira Rafaschieri on “www.dezeen.com” and "yanko design", it’s very good work. I looked at the work of the Designers Frank and Stanimira Rafaschieri on “www.dezeen.com”,it’s very good work. I think that these young French designers Rafaschieri are future stars of the Design. I did not find theirs of site, but their work presented on Google is really super. They have also conceived a project of furniture for a church in France, very interesting !
