NO A GOOD IDEA. We used a vipp for our baby and while is worked well in the first months of life, the odor was horrible once we started solids. Every time you open the can to drop in a diaper the odor wafts out into the room and it was just gross. Plus it's super difficult to empty as all the heavy diapers create a vacuum and you need to use SO much pressure to get the stinky bag out. It's in my office now. Beautiful - yes. Practical, diaper can - no.

I know...and I wish it wasn't so expensive. What makes it so expensive is freight because there's no US distribution for this and it's coming to the US from Denmark. Prices have increased a lot this year with gas prices going up.

And unfortunately, no, I don't know of any less expensive solutions that are great alternatives. Do take some comfort in the fact that this is a lifetime purchase (it's awesome in bathrooms or kitchens after baby). And don't underestimate the cost savings of not being forced to buy a particular diaper pail bag to use in it - the traditional pails make their profits on the bag refills. New parents go through bags refills fast!

I promise other great design ideas that are easier on the budget-:)

I was excited when I saw this, but $300 for a diaper pail?!?! Even if you can use it afterwards, that's just plain ridiculous.

I really want this, but it is seriously expensive! Anyone know of a (much, much) cheaper alternative?
