Modern Baby Design is Alive and Well at ICFF – Part 1

in Furniture

Last week, coochicoos visited the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in NY – an annual showcase of the newest designs in modern furniture.  Among the over 550 listed exhibitors, we spotted a group of exhibitors who chose ICFF to exhibit their design work in furniture and furnishings for babies and children.  Modern baby design is certainly growing and thriving, and modern design consumers and parents have lots to be encouraged about.

ducduc Dining Table & Bunk Bed

With their eye on family living, ducduc introduced a beautiful walnut finished dining table with reversible sliding tops that switch from walnut to a whiteboard drawing surface.  Underneath the sliding tops, there is room for storage and on one end a pocket to hold a roll of drawing paper.  Benches designed for the table also come with a high chair or booster seat add-ons.  For the bedroom, ducduc also showed their new bunk bed design.

Desk, Chairs & Dresset from notneutral

From NotNeutral, new glossy finishes and colors were unveiled for their existing children’s chair line.  Brand new at the show were a children’s work table and chair, and a dresser/changing table that recalls a modernist pattern with their drawer front proportions.

Nurseryworks at ICFF

Custom nursery furniture maker, Nurseryworks, displayed their newest bookshelf design along with a new children’s play table and cube nesting stools with storage underneath.  No official word yet on the availability of these new pieces yet.

Offi Bassinet at ICFF

California based furniture maker, Offi, showed off their continued commitment to the children’s market by dedicating their entire booth space to their children’s furniture designs.  In addition to showing line extensions to their EVA Foam chair collection, their most exciting new design was a bent wood baby bassinet that may quickly become a nursery design icon in the near future.  The bassinet is projected for a late fall release.
