After years in development, the One Laptop Per Child mission – to put a laptop in the hands of every child – is starting to get rolling. Founded by MIT Professor, Nicholas Negroponte’s vision was to create a $100 laptop that would be given to children in developing countries. He came close – the OLPC laptop costs $188.
This Christmas season you can help out OLPC with their Give One Get One program. For $399, one laptop will be donated to a child in a developing nation, and you’ll also receive one laptop to give to a child in your life.
Could this be the feel-good gift of the 2007 holiday season?
