Treehugger: The Tofu Bear: Bean Curd's Best Ambassador

[via Treehugger.com] My brother’s not into tofu. Neither is Oprah. But there’s one thing I know for sure: both of them would love a soft, cuddly bear made from it. The Tofu Bear’s fabric, called SOYSILK(R), is made from waste produced during the food’s processing. Who wouldn’t trade in synthetic petroleum-based bears for some nontoxic cashmere-like softness? The fill is still a standard, hypoallergenic variety, but great strides are being made to make the little buddies eco inside and out. Soon the Tofu Bear will be on your list of favorite things. $39.
